High-density black dye ink with extremely high light absorption for specialized applications, available in a 500ml bottle.
Epson printers are commonly used today for creating positive film templates for the screen printing industry. The increasingly finer print points and the ability to print at very high resolutions provide an ideal way to produce high-quality separations at lower costs compared to traditional photochemical or thermal printing processes. However, the use of pigment inks is not optimal due to their poor light-blocking performance.
farbenwerk HighDensity Black offers several advantages over original Epson inks:
Pigments have an irregular texture or surface and partially sit on top of the printed medium. Due to the uneven, non-homogeneous print surface, light can pass through the pigment layer on the film. With dye-based farbenwerk HighDensity Black, you get deep black, homogeneous print surfaces that optimally block incoming light.
How to Print
farbenwerk HighDensity Black can be installed in either a single black channel of the printer or in all channels. For example, in a pigment printer with both matte and photo black installed, the matte black channel can ideally be filled with farbenwerk HighDensity Black. This allows for color printing while also enabling the printer to produce separation films. In the printer driver, select a matte medium that supports “grayscale” mode. In this mode, only the configured black channel is used for printing, operating in the so-called “black-only” mode.
Alternatively, you can fill all the printer’s channels with HighDensity Black and print in the normal color mode, the same mode used for printing color photos. This is recommended if the printer is used solely for separation printing.
If there are inactive channels in a printer, they should be filled with farbenwerk CLEAR:INK. Operating an Epson printer requires that all ink channels are filled with compatible printer cartridges and that these cartridges, as well as all ink lines and print head channels, are filled with ink to avoid damage to the print head. By using farbenwerk CLEAR:INK, you not only protect your print head but also reduce the operating costs of printing.
